evil otto said...get the humanoid!

1980...stern present their last arcade game: BERZERK. You control a green humanoid trying to escape from some yellow robots and the bad guy...Evil Otto (by the way, it was a yellow smiley!) who is yelling their robots "Get the Humanoid!"

1988...a band named HUMANOID releases a great song featuring the voice of Evil Otto from Berzerk, saying: "Humanoid!"

2007...Some remixes of that old track get a proper release. One of them gets a great buzz. People loves it...just as they love the remixer and he goes by Feadz!

i like it that way

Noone doubts that its a sweet time for electro producers from Oz. Lots of great producers emerging from the world down under. Some time ago some of them came to tell us they were going hard...Cut Copy, The Presets...just a couple of names. Labels like Modular or Cutters...and new talents like Knightlife or Van She...and then, out of nowhere...they appeared: THE BANG GANG (djs, 12", etc)

Right after releasing their amazing AROUND THE WORLD reinterpretation, KIM's "By the time that they reach you", the first MUSCLES reference or the amazing BAG RIDERS EP...they come with this: LIKE WOAH!. The original single, Oh! I like and their live opener based on this same song are here. Look out for the Whitenoise and Knightlife mixes! What a great piece of music.

Just as always...you should try to buy the complete release on vinyl here or digitally here.

an uppercut to your head

So, boxing is not my passion...rocky balboa is not my passion...music is my passion, and those guitar chords, powerful, heavy...WOW...i always wanted to get them and make some kind of club version...but, why do I have to do it when HERVE is there to get it the right way?

This Dubsided/Counterfeet/etc sound is great, means party to me. Herve (aka The Count of Monte Cristal), Switch, Trevor Loveys, Sinden, Crookers, Speakerjunk...if rave means jumping, screaming, dancing and punching someone in the face (i think it does not mean that, but had to say it) then Rocky might be the perfect raver. Let the music talk.

the looooove booaaat! (ok, the rave boat)

This Saturday is time for the second round. theAmplid live! at Globo. This saturday we will be in the rave boat with PIG OUT, Seiji, Orange & Jamuto and Je suis Musikque?? Globo are the parties hosted on Saturday nights at Naumon, a boat now stuck in Barcelona (this same boat hosted a great Institubes party some months ago). Lets call it the rave boat!

I know that uploading our own songs on my blog is not the usual thing, but just for you to know what to expect from us, I'll post a remix we did for argentinan Pornophonics. So I can talk about him too.

He's a great electro producer and nice man. Done some great songs and mixes (released on SanCityHigh and his own label, Jeopardy Records). He also runs a podcast and radioshow called Pornonight. Now, lets get on Lovely...the original is a great song, we just added some new lines and ravish distortion, like those who add some booze to the punch in a party!

You can, and should, buy the original Pornophonics song here. Stay tuned for a rerelease sometime soon, with our rework and some other mixes.

lets rock it hard

Nano Recrodings released one of the best tunes I can remember last year, Spiller's Jumbo. But another artist from that same label, GLITCH, released another monster EP sooner this year, with this great b side that is Jason Rocktron. Electro sounds, great rock attitude! Makes you wanna smash some guitars or have some great on-stage jack daniels drinking!

You can get the ep here (or digitally on iTunes).

digital electronic secrets

So, another great but younger duo. DIGITALISM are from Germany and are Isi and Jens...but thats not a secret to anyone, so let's get to the interesting thing. Their Idealism LP is a great piece of work, all those songs we already knew sound nice but there are some new tracks, some better than others...i specially like one of these new ones: Home Zone. I guess it will get a proper single release sometime soon, and I'll get it then!

On the other hand, some time ago they had a digital-only release quite unknown or simply underestimated. Zdarlight - The Unrealized Ep contained one of the album promos...the vocal reinterpretation of their Zdarlight, a song known as "I want I want", but also some great unreleased mixes/edits of Zdarlight (Automation and Carlight editions, Palermo Disko Machine reinterpretation and the Paranoid Asteroid mix, also included in their Terrorlight EP and Kitsune Compilation 3). The Automation edition does the work for me...

An obvious band to start with...

So, first of all, I'd like to introuce myself and this blog. After some months thinking about it...the time is now, my own music blog has just born! I've been djing for some years now, playing all kinds of music...from deep house to electro, from detroit techno to indie pop...thats what this is all about! Music.

Just getting the name from the lyrics from NYPC's first hit...Ice Cream...I CAN GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT is going to give you what I want! Lets get it started!

So, my favourite electronic band...DAFT PUNK, and just to make it more special...I'm offering you all my own secret weapons. A simple but yet effective edit on Around the World (using the original and then the killdahype mix, such a killer!) and a simple recreation of their One more time vs Aerodynamic live version. Grab'em!
